A Look At The Denver Nuggets Summer League Team

It's certainly not the regular season or even the preseason, but at least it's basketball. The Denver Nuggets will begin their short tour in the Las Vegas Summer League this Friday, July 9th against the Dallas Mavericks. The Nuggets will play five games over the next six days against the Lakers, Knicks, Bulls and Rockets, as well as the aforementioned Mavs.

7/9/2010 - Dallas Mavericks - 2:00 PM
7/10/2010 - Los Angeles Lakers - 4:00 PM
7/11/2010 - New York Knicks - 2:00 PM
7/13/2010 - Chicago Bulls - 2:00 PM
7/14/2010 - Houston Rockets - 2:00 PM

Take a look at the roster for the upcoming contests after the jump.

No. Player Pos. Ht. Wt. School/Country Exp.
13 Antonio Anderson G 6-6 215 Memphis 1
43 Brian Butch C 6-11 240 Wisconsin R
10 Dontaye Draper G 5-11 180 College of Charleston R
7 Shane Edwards F 6-7 220 Arkansas-Little Rock R
34 Laurence Ekperigin F 6-7 235 Le Moyne College R
14 Brian Hamilton F 6-6 205 Louisiana-Lafayette R
12 Othello Hunter F 6-8 225 Ohio State 2
22 Coby Karl G 6-5 215 Boise State 2
3 Ty Lawson G 5-11 195 North Carolina 1
8 Richard Roby G 6-6 200 Colorado R

Obviously I am excited to see Richard Roby on the team and I would love to see him get a shot at a roster, but it is a long shot at best. The player a lot of observers are most interested in getting another look at is Brian Butch, the 6'11 center from the University of Wisconsin. Butch was named the MVP of last year's D-League All-Star game and was called up to the Nuggets at the end of the season. As we all know too well, you can never have enough quality big men in the NBA.
