Peaks & Valleys - July 25 - Troy Tulowitzki Nears Return

We're entering the final stretch before the start of training camp. The Starting Five heavily reflects that as the Broncos articles are starting to pour in these days. Finally, Peaks & Valleys will have more than just a short recap of the Rockies game every morning. For now, here's some of the good and the bad from yesterday.

Peaks

↵

-Troy Renck tweeted that Troy Tulowitzki will likely be activated from the disabled list on Tuesday for the start of the Pirates series.

↵

-OK, so it may be wrong to do this because he's on the Phillies, but a chapeau for Vance Worley who made his major league debut yesterday and struck out two in the ninth inning.

Valleys

↵

-Troy Renck has two interesting tweets about Ubaldo Jimenez's short outing yesterday here and here. The Cy Young is slipping away unless the ship can be righted immediately. I partially blame the SI cover he was on, because of curses and such. . . .

↵

-And how does this team only score a run off of Kyle Kendrick?

↵

On Tap For Today

↵

-Jeff Francis will look to repeat his success from last Tuesday when the Rockies beat the Marlins 10-0. Francis went seven innings, scattered three hits, and struck out seven. J.A. Happ opposes him on the rubber at 11:35 a.m MT.

↵

-The Colorado Rapids take the pitch at QWEST Field against the Seattle Sounders FC at 8:30 p.m. MT
