The Rockies are 2-6 on their 11-game road trip after last night's loss. Hopefully today starts at least a three-game winning streak. The good and the bad from yesterday:
Peaks
-Taylor Buchholz makes his return to the majors after missing the 2009 season due to Tommy John surgery. Buchholz was the Rockies' best reliever in 2008, putting up a 2.17 ERA, 0.950 WHIP in 63 appearances. To create room, Jhoulys Chacin will return to Colorado Springs and join the starting rotation again. In the long run, this is better for Chacin because his future is as a starter.
↵Valleys
↵-Aaron Cook allowed five runs in 4 1/3 innings. If this keeps happening, Chacin could find himself back in the majors soon.
↵-Roy Halladay shut down the offense for eight innings, striking out nine and scattering five hits. Expect the best from one of the best.
↵On Tap For Today
↵-The Rockies counter with their best today, as Ubaldo Jimenez faces Kyle Kendrick at 2 p.m. MT. This is a pitching match-up that heavily favors the Rockies, and I expect U-Ball to pick up his 16th win.
