Buffaloes Looking To Land USC WR Transfer

Prior to this summer, the wide receiver position was thought to be one of the strengths of the Buffaloes heading into the 2010 season. After spring practice the unit had a couple of issues arise and all of a sudden a supposed solid position turns into a question mark. Thanks to the wonderful shenanighans of (former?) Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush, the Buffs are hoping to add some talent to the position:

Sources said USC senior wide receiver Travon Patterson is contemplating transferring to CU for the fall semester. Patterson, a speedster who also returns punts, is eligible to transfer to any program without having to sit out and lose the normal year of eligibility.

The NCAA granted all juniors and seniors in the USC program permission to transfer and play after the Committee on Infractions hit the program with a two-year bowl ban earlier this summer following a lengthy investigation that found former running back and Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush had received improper benefits during his time at the school.

Patterson has played in 33 games in four different seasons (he got one back for an injury redshirt)and 10 passes for 96 yards with no touchdowns. While the production hasn't been there yet, Travon has been stuck behind a log jam at WR and he certainly has the skills to see the field.

UPDATE - 7/22 3:35 AM - Reports are coming in that Travon has indeed decided to come to Boulder!
