Peaks & Valleys - July 2 - Rockies Start Home Stand With Victory

New, 1 comment

As everyone gets ready for the long Fourth of July weekend, take some time out for your Denver sports teams.

↵

Peaks
-The Rockies didn't let that loss in San Diego get them down as they came back and won 7-3 over the Giants.

↵

-Aaron Cook picked up his first win in six starts. His last victory was on May 29 against the Dodgers.

↵

-Dexter Fowler, recently recalled from Triple-A, had three hits (one for a triple) and stole two bases.

↵

Level Ground
-The Avalanche and Nuggets made no big splashes at the start of free agency, nor did they sell the farm.

↵

Valleys
-As linked to in the Starting Five, former Broncos QB Chris Simms is under suspicion for driving high on marijuana.

↵

On Tap Today
-The Rockies and starter Jhoulys Chacin face the Giants and Tim Lincecum tonight. After the game there will be a fireworks display. Let's see some fireworks by the Rockies during the game, too.

↵

Miscellaneous
-If anyone is looking for Colorado Rapids coverage, SB Nation Denver should be adding a writer for the team soon.

↵

-Feel free to e-mail me links for inclusion in the Denver Starting Lineup. Also, while it is not possible to comment directly in the Starting Lineup, Peaks & Valleys would be the place to do so.
