Miami, FL (Sports Network) – Pinch-hitter Donnie Murphy hit a two-run homer off Huston Street in the bottom of the ninth, as the Florida Marlins edged the Colorado Rockies, 9-8, in the opener of a four-game series at Sun Life Stadium.
Street (1-2) entered the game in the home ninth with the Rockies holding an 8-7 edge. Dan Uggla worked a two-out walk before Murphy smacked a 1-0 fastball over the wall in right for the dramatic victory. It was Murphy’s fourth at-bat of the season.
