Peaks & Valleys - July 19 - The Rockies Have Decided To Take Their Talents To South Beach

New, 1 comment

How long will South Beach jokes be funny? Have they ever been funny since LeBron James said he was taking his talents there? Anyway, the Rockies head to Miami for a four-game series against the Florida Marlins. Expect small crowds since LeBron James won't be playing. OK, expect small crowds because that's pretty much how it always has been at Marlins games.

The Rockies left Cincinnati with a victory yesterday afternoon. Let's take a look:

↵

Peaks

↵

-Aaron Cook had a stellar performance with seven shutout innings and five strikeouts.

↵

-Chris Iannetta's sixth inning homer proved to be all the runs the Rockies' needed to win this one.

↵

-Huston Street continued to prove he's back from his injury by striking out (all swinging) the side in the ninth for his sixth save.

↵

Valley

↵

-The Rockies had another game with only four hits, and only one coming after the sixth inning. It was enough for the win yesterday, but this lack of hits can't stay for long.

On Tap For Today

↵

-Ubaldo Jimenez faces Anibal Sanchez at 5:10 pm MT to open the series. Miguel Olivo is likely to start the game, and he caught each of the pitchers' no-hitters.
