Aaron Cook Hopes To Stave Off Reds' Series Sweep In Front Of Hometown Crowd

Aaron Cook, a native of Hamilton, Ohio, will have a large crowd at the game in Cincinnati this afternoon, and he doesn't want to disappoint. Cook is 2-0 in five appearances at the Great American Ball Park. He has a good ERA of 3.14 and has 17 K in 28 2/3 innings pitched.

The Reds place Travis Wood on the rubber today. Wood, as we all should know, took a perfect game into the ninth inning against the Phillies on July 10. He gave up a double to start the inning, but did not factor into the decision. The game went into extra innings, where the Phillies scored in the bottom of the 11th to score the winning run.

Knowing the Rockies. . . . nah, the Rockies win this one to avoid the sweep before they take their talents to South Beach.
