Nuggets Sign Harrington To Five-Year, $34 Million Deal

According to Yahoo! Sports, the Denver Nuggets have agreed to terms with free agent power forward Al Harrington. The deal is reportedly worth 5 years and $34 million for the 30 year old center.

Harrington chose Denver over the Dallas Mavericks in a market that has been controlled by the Miami Heat the past week. Because of the severe competition, Denver likely overpaid for a big man they desperately needed with Kenyon Martin and Chris Andersen potentially out for the beginning of the season.

Harrington was very efficient in New York last year after previously playing for Golden State and Atlanta. Though undersized for a center, Harrington is a decent rebounder and energy guy who has a very talented scoring touch and should be a good fit in the uptempo style that Denver likes to run.
