The Colorado Rapids held a very successful watching party for the World Cup final between Spain and the Netherlands on Sunday, drawing over 3000 people to 21st and Stout. The immense crowd stood soaking up the heat for over two hours as they watched Spain win 1-0. The crowd of 3000+ also set a record for the most people gathered to a viewing party for soccer in Denver ever. You can see some photos of the gathering here.
↵The Rapids also advertised during the gathering a petition to enter Denver in the bidding for the 2018 or 2022 world cups. You can and should sign the petition – which already has over 18,000 members – here. Help bring the 2018 World Cup to Denver!
