Colorado Falls Short

The Colorado Rockies surrendered a three-run lead (and a heartbreaking two-run home run by Padres SS Everth Cabrera) and failed to complete the sweep. They now enter the All-Star break two games out of first place, but remain the leaders for the NL Wild Card.

Matt Belisle was the losing pitcher after allowing the go-ahead run on a infield hit with the bases loaded in the seventh inning. San Diego closer Heath Bell closed out the game by pitching 1 2/3 innings on the way to a 9-7 San Diego victory.
