Has K-Mart Played His Last Game As A Nugget?

Earlier today, the Denver Post reported that Kenyon Martin had knee surgery (again) and may not be healthy enough for the start of training camp this fall.

Martin, who is in the final year of his contract, will make $16.5 million dollars this year, a substantial expiring contract that is tempting for a team in rebuilding mode.

↵

Even though he was the team MVP for Denver this past winter and the most consistent game changer on defense, the Nuggets’ front office may be more willing to trade him away, not only for the cap space but for other pieces that can help the team this year. Martin has always been a very expensive injury risk.

Even though Denver has been vocal about finding another big man for the middle of the court, it’s very possible they may be looking for two bigs before the start of the 2010-2011 season.
