Peaks & Valleys - June 25

Unfortunately, extra innings did the Rockies in last night. The NBA Draft was also quiet for the Denver Nuggets.

↵

Peaks

↵

- A round of applause for the Rockies offense in the sixth and eighth innings. Continuing to go against the grain recently, the offense scored runs in droves late in the game.

↵

- Jason Giambi continues to show that he has some use left on this team, but will it be enough to save his spot on the roster?

↵

- Seeing Papelbon get the blown save.

↵

Valleys

↵

- Seeing Papelbon get the win.

↵

- As a result of the 11-13 loss to the Red Sox, Jason Hammel's scoreless inning streak ended at 28 1/3 innings.

↵

- The bullpen failed at run prevention. Randy Flores was the only pitcher not to allow a run; Manuel Corpas blew his third save of the season, though he was pitching in the seventh inning with Street's return.

↵

- The Nuggets did not make a trade to re-enter the draft.

On Tap For Today

↵

- The Rockies begin a three-game series against the Angels in Los Angeles, or Anaheim, or wherever the Angels play. It's so confusing these days.

↵

- The NHL Draft takes place tonight. The Avs have the 17th overall pick.
