Avalanche Shut Out At NHL Awards

At the NHL Awards ceremony, the Colorado Avalanche skated away solidly in third place, to the dismay of Rocky Mountain Hockey fans everywhere.

Rookie Forward Matt Duchene finished a distant third in the Calder Trophy voting for Best Rookie, behind Buffalo Defenseman Tyler Myers.

Coach Joe Sacco came in third for the Jack Adams Award, though he was responsible for a very similar turnaround as eventual winner Phoenix’s Dave Tippett.

Though both candidates were very deserving, there seemed to be someone else that stole a bit more spotlight.
