Nuggets Look To Join NBA Draft on Thursday

The Denver Post's Chris Dempsey reports that the Nuggets hope to acquire a pick in Thursday's NBA Draft. George Karl believes it's a distinct possibility:

"I’d say it’s about 50-50," Karl said on Monday, following a morning workout of 12 college players.

That’s a pretty good chance. The Nuggets have never been an organization to shut off the lines of communication without hearing the offer first. It seems this time the Nuggets aren’t just fielding offers, but may be making some of their own.

Dempsey believes J.R. Smith, Kenyon Martin, and Ty Lawson have contracts that other teams may want to pick up, but that Lawson is unlikely to move, despite rumors earlier in the month that Lawson was offered for a top-10 pick.
