Both Tracy Ringolsby and Troy Renck report that troy Tulowitzki suffered a broken hamate bone in Thursday's game when he was hit by an Alex Burnett pitch. He is expected to be out for a month, possibly two.
This is a major blow to the Rockies, as Tulowitzki was one of the few bright spots for the Rockies offense this season. Clint Barmes will move over to shortstop, while a trio of Jonathan Herrera, Melvin Mora, and just-brought-up Chris Nelson will platoon at second base.
