Denver Broncos interim head coach Eric Studesville put to rest any doubts over who his starter is for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. He announced that Kyle Orton will be under center on Sunday for the Denver Broncos, meaning Tim Tebow will be on the sidelines when the Broncos offense takes the field at the University of Phoenix Stadium.
Later in the press conference, chief operating office Joe Ellis said this regarding Tim Tebow:
Pat [Bowlen] has never asked a coach to play a certain player and I don't think he will do it with Eric [Studesville].
What remains to be seen is if Tebow will receive more playing time. Though Kyle Orton will start for the Broncos, this does not preclude the possibility of Tebow gaining any meaningful on the field. More than likely, Broncos fans and Tebow fans will need to wait until the very end of the season to see Tebow receive a chance at leading this offense.
Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals placed quarterback Max Hall on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday for an injury to his non-throwing shoulder. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt is undecided on his starting quarterback, as it could be Derek Anderson or John Skelton, a rookie out of Fordham.
