Baseball Winter Meetings: Colorado Rockies Rumors

The annual December Baseball Winter Meetings begin on Monday, Dec. 6 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. and run through Thursday, Dec. 9. The Colorado Rockies appear to have made all their big moves before these meetings began with the Troy Tulowitzki extension, re-signing Jorge De La Rosa and acquiring Jose Lopez.

The Rockies still need a right-handed bat off the bench, though Lance Berkman no longer appears to be close to signing with the Rockies. The Oakland Athletics may have jumped back ahead of the Rockies in pursuit of the first baseman. The Rockies will also look for another reliever and a backup catcher to bolster the roster.

However, given the surprises Dan O'Dowd has provided Rockies fans this offseason so far, it wouldn't be too surprising if he makes a trade during the meetings. But if any Rockies fans are expecting a blockbuster deal, like acquiring Royals pitcher Zack Greinke, they'll be disappointed.

Stay tuned to this stream for more updates and rumors as they emerge.
