Even though they did not play this past week, the Duke Blue Devils (10-0) still retained control over the No. 1 spot in the latest AP Top 25 poll. However, they are no longer the unanimous No 1, as one top vote went to the Ohio State Buckeyes (10-0). Kansas, Connecticut and Syracuse remained teams two through five.
The San Diego St. Aztecs (12-0) jumped four spots to No. 7 this week. They beat Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara to remain undefeated. Pittsburgh (11-1) is the highest-ranked team with a loss, coming in right ahead of the Aztecs at No. 6.
The BYU Cougars, San Diego State's fellow Mountain West Conference team, lost to UCLA on the road last week and dropped to No. 23. They will play Weber State and UTEP this week. New Mexico (9-1) received one vote.
The University of Central Florida Golden Knights were the only new team in this week's rankings, entering at No. 24. Louisville (9-1) was the last team out and received 124 votes.
