NHL Power Rankings, Week 8: Colorado Holds Steady

SB Nation’s roundtable of NHL bloggers have released their latest series of Power Rankings today. Last week, Colorado used four straight victories to vault to fourth in the Western Conference.

How about this week? An unsteady week of play within the division, combined with the loss of top offensive threat Chris Stewart, should have forecast a downturn for the Avalanche. Instead, they hold steady at fourth place, behind the Vancouver Canucks.

The roundtable seems to agree that Colorado is a good team, but a volatile one. Trades, injuries, it’s hard enough keeping track who is on the active roster, let alone how cohesive they are as a unit.
