NFL Schedule, Week 12: Kansas City Chiefs Look To Increase Lead Over Chargers, Raiders In AFC West

The AFC West is shaping up to be a race between the Kansas City Chiefs, the Oakland Raiders and the San Diego Chargers. The Chiefs currently lead the West with a 6-4 record, but the Chargers and Raiders are right behind at 5-5. The Denver Broncos remain a distant fourth at 3-7.

The Kansas City Chiefs visit the 5-5 Seattle Seahawks, who currently lead the NFC West. The Chiefs have lost their last four road games and will look to have better luck this time. Matt Cassel will look to throw all over the 30th-ranked pass defense in the league, though Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones will have a go at the 13th-rated rush defense.

The Oakland Raider host the Miami Dolphins (5-5), who are unsettled at quarterback. The Tyler Thigpen era may already be over after one game for the Miami Dolphins. Supposedly, Chad Henne will be able to start against the Raiders on Sunday. However, whoever starts at quarterback will be without wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who is doubtful for the game. It will be a tall task for the Dolphins to overcome the Raiders.

The San Diego Chargers face the stiffest test of the weekend when they go up against Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts on the road. The Chargers are 1-4 on the road and the Colts are 4-0 at home this season. However, Chargers-Colts games have been dramatic ones in recent years. With a strong start to their second half, the Chargers are a team I wouldn't bet against, especially against the Colts.

When all is said an done, will the Chiefs still have sole possession of first place in the AFC West?
