MLS Offseason: Expansion Draft Lists Are Out, Rapids Trade For Vagenas With Seattle

The MLS offseason has only been going on for a day now and it's already gotten exciting. First, Colorado traded defenders Julien Baudet and Danny Earls to the Seattle Sounders for veteran midfielder Peter Vagenas, a player with two MLS Cup rings under his belt.

The expansion draft protection lists were released today as well. Colorado will protect the following 12 players from the expansion draft;

1. Matt Pickens
2. Drew Moor
3. Marvell Wynne
4. Kosuke Kimura
5. Pablo Mastroeni
6. Jeff Larentowicz
7. Brian Mullan
8. Jamie Smith
9. Macoumba Kandji
10. Omar Cummings
11. Conor Casey
12. Davy Armstrong - Protected by default due to the homegrown players rule.

This leaves the following players unaccounted for and pickable in the expansion draft, with the most surprising inclusion being budding left-back Anthony Wallace.
