Nets Vs. Nuggets: Is Carmelo Anthony Playing Against His Future Team, The New Jersey Nets?

Tonight's Denver Nuggets game against the New Jersey Nets may be a preview of what Carmelo Anthony will have to work with if he is traded there (minus the parts sent to Denver). The 4-8 Nets already have a quarter of the wins they had all of last year (12) and are only one win back of the 5-8 New York Knicks, a potential landing spot for the Melo and recent loser to the Nuggets.

The Nets are coming off an 86-81 loss to the Sacramento Kings on the road and have lost two straight. This will be the Nets' last game on the road before making a quick stop back in New Jersey on Tuesday against the Atlanta Hawks. The centerpiece of any possibly Melo-to-the-Nets deal involves rookie Derrick Favors, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-10 power forward averages 7.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in 20.2 minutes.

The Nuggets are 606 after dropping a game to the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday. The Nuggets won both games against the Nets last season, 122-94 and 101-87, for what it's worth.
