College Basketball Rankings: Little Movement In AP Top 25, Duke Ranked First, Colorado Gets Noticed

Despite being undefeated on the young season, no local teams cracked this week's college basketball AP top 25, but a handful of teams that share conference affiliation with Colorado schools are in the latest NCAA basketball rankings. Six schools from the Big 12 and Mountain West Conference collectively are included in the AP top 25, making college basketball relevant in the state.

Those six ranked schools:

3. Kansas State Wildcats

7. Kansas Jayhawks

15. Missouri Tigers

16. Baylor Bears

24. BYU Cougars

25. San Diego State Aztecs

In total, the top 25 went a combined 31-0 against mostly inferior opponents, leading to little poll movement compared to the preseason rankings. In fact there was such little movement that no team moved up or down more than one spot.

The unchanged top 10:

1.     Duke Blue Devils

2.     Michigan State Spartans

3.     K-State

4.     Ohio State Buckeyes

5.     Pittsburgh Panthers

6.     Villanova Wildcats

7.     KU

8.     North Carolina Tar Heels

9.     Florida Gators

10.   Syracuse Orange

With seven votes, the Colorado Buffaloes get the distinction of appearing as an "Others Receiving Votes" footnote.
