The Rapids Try To Take A Road Point From Red Hot FC Dallas

Colorado comes into Dallas today to face one of the hottest teams in the MLS, FC Dallas. Dallas has only lost two games this year while battling to an astounding 13 draws, giving them tons of points and poise for their upcoming playoff run. Meanwhile, Colorado needs to get a point or three out of their next three games in order to make the playoffs.

Colorado should be playing their A-listers as it were today, after losing the DC United game with several of their usual back ups working the pitch for the full 90 minutes. We'll be seeing the same back four line up as the past few wins, Wallace-Moor-Wynne-Kimura. In a strange twist of events, we'll also be seeing the Rapids top three strikers out on the pitch at the same time with a Cummings-Casey-Kandji insertion into the starting XI.

Colorado and Dallas tied 1-1 earlier in the season as Julien Baudet scored an own goal and Mehdi Ballouchy converted a penalty kick after a Dallas handball in the box. I think most Rapids fans would agree that another such 1-1 game would be plenty fine by us... although I'd prefer they skip the own goal part. Dallas is certainly good at getting draws, they have the most in the league this season by far.

If the Rapids manage by some wizardry to win this thing and the Kansas City Wizards draw or lose to the Sounders, the Rapids clinch a playoff spot.
