The Colorado Rockies twice tied Sunday's game against the New York Mets, but the third time was not the charm. Ike Davis' RBI single in the top of the 11th inning proved to be the game-winner for the 6-5 Mets victory over the Rockies.

David Wright started off the top of the 11th inning with a single up the middle to center field and then ran from first to third on Lucas Duda's single to center field. Dexter Fowler took his time getting to the ball, allowing Wright, aware of what the center fielder was doing, to move 90 feet closer to scoring.

Johan Santana dominated the Rockies for the six innings he was on the mound, holding the team to two hits. He struck out five and walked three. Jamie Moyer wasn't as effective as he was in his other starts, allowing four runs on 11 hits over five innings. He did, however, strike out seven.

In the eighth inning, Jon Rauch allowed a Dexter Fowler single and then walked Carlos Gonzalez and Michael Cuddyer to load the bases. With two outs and the pitcher slated to bat, Todd Helton came in as a pinch-hitter and smashed a second-deck grand slam (video) to tie the game, 4-4.

After a scoreless ninth inning, Kirk Nieuwenhuis put the Mets into a 5-4 lead in the top of the 10th inning by doubling in Mike Baxter. But Carlos Gonzalez answered back in the bottom half of the inning with a line drive home run over the right field scoreboard (video) to tie the game.

Peyton Manning and Eric Decker attended this game.

The Rockies (10-11, 6-6 home) begin a three-game home series with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night. Juan Nicasio and Aaron Harang are the scheduled starters.

Jorge De La Rosa To Make Rehab Start On May 2

Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Jorge De La Rosa is scheduled to make a rehab start with High Single-A Modesto on May 2, as the team announced on Sunday. De La Rosa is nearing the end of his long absence from the game due to Tommy John surgery.

De La Rosa isn't expected to be back in Colorado's rotation until early June after making a series of rehab starts in the minor leagues. He reportedly looked good in extended spring training earlier this month, and now he'll get to return to live action in a few days.

Mets Vs. Rockies: Jamie Moyer, Johan Santana Duel In Rubber Game

The Colorado Rockies and the New York Mets split the first two games of this three-game weekend series, the latter taking the Saturday contest, 7-5. The Rockies continue to hover around .500 and are 10-10 through the first 20 games of the season. Which side of .500 will they be on after Sunday's game?

Jamie Moyer (1-2, 2.28 ERA) makes the start for the Rockies after taking a no-decision his last time out. He allowed just one runs over six innings to the Pittsburgh Pirates, but Rex Brothers and Matt Belisle each blew the game in the later innings. Moyer's 2.28 ERA leads all Rockies starters this season. Not bad for a 49-year-old pitcher.

Johan Santana (0-2, 3.00 ERA) enters this contest fresh off his best start in four games. Though he took a no-decision against the Miami Marlins in that game, Santana allowed just one run on three hits in 6.2 innings. He struck out 11 in a game the Mets eventually won, 2-1.

Mets Vs. Rockies Final Score: Lucas Duda, David Wright Lead New York To 7-5 Victory

The Colorado Rockies didn't have an answer to Lucas Duda on Saturday evening, dropping the game to the New York Mets, 7-5. Duda drove in four of the Mets' runs on a two-run home run in the second inning and a two-run single in the fifth inning. David Wright drove in two of the other runs on a double in the third inning and on a single in the fifth inning.

Guillermo Moscoso, who made the start in place of the injured Jeremy Guthrie, wasn't hit terribly hard, though he did surrender six runs in five innings Of the nine hits he gave up, the extra-base ones were just Duda's home run and Wright's double. He struck out five and walked one, a good way to keep himself in the rotation for another start or two until Guthrie returns from the disabled list.

The Rockies at one point held leads of 1-0 and 4-3 before Moscoso failed to contain the Mets. Troy Tulowitzki drove in the first run on a ground out in the first inning while Todd Helton doubled and Michael Cuddyer singled in back-to-back at-bats to each drive in a run during the fourth inning, Moscoso drove in Cuddyer late in the inning for the temporary lead.

Dillon Gee struck out seven Rockies and surrendered all four runs over seven innings pitched, picking up the win. Frank Francisco allowed a Dexter Fowler home run in the bottom of the ninth inning and followed that up by watching Tyler Colvin pinch hit for a triple. But the false hope ended with Jason Giambi flying out to center field to end the game.

The Mets scored the seventh run on a passed bowl allowed by Wilin Rosario in the top of the ninth inning. It might not have scored had not there been questionable defense by Marco Scutaro and Michael Cuddyer on a high pop up by Michael Baxter, who wound up with a double. Baxter wound up on third following a ground out.

The Rockies (10-10, 6-5 home) conclude the series on Sunday afternoon at 1:10 p.m. MT. Jamie Moyer takes on Johan Santana.

Rockies Vs. Mets Lineup: Moscoso On The Mound For Colorado

After breaking out of an offensive slump with 18 runs in the opening game of its series against the New York Mets, Colorado will look to win its second straight game in front of the home fans. Guillermo Moscoso will make his first start of the season for the Rockies as a replacement for Jeremy Guthrie, who injured his shoulder in a biking accident on Friday.

Moscoso pitched for the Oakland Athletics last season, where he compiled an 8-10 record with a 3.38 ERA. Guthrie has started the season with a 2-1 record, but does have a 5.82 ERA in just four starts.

Mets Vs. Rockies: Guillermo Moscoso To Make Start Following Jeremy Guthrie Injuries

The Colorado Rockies ended Friday night with 18-9 victory against the New York Mets, but almost immediately after the game ended it was revealed that Saturday's starter Jeremy Guthrie would be placed on the disabled list due to a sprained right shoulder, reports Troy Renck. Guthrie found out along with everyone else after manager Jim Tracy made the announcement during his postgame press conference.

Guthrie (2-1, 5.92 ERA) incurred the injury when the chain on his bike snapped and hit into the ground. Replacing him in the rotation -- for now -- will be Guillermo Moscoso. Moscoso is 1-3 with a 7.91 ERA in four starts for the Triple-A Colorado Springs Sky Sox. He has struck out 19 in 19.1 innings, but his starts have been from one extreme to the next. He's had two starts in which he has allowed two runs or fewer and he has had two starts with seven-plus runs allowed each time. Will Moscoso, acquired in the Seth Smith trade, be able to tame the Mets and Coors Field?

The Mets counter with Dillon Gee (1-2, 5.21 ERA), who will make his fourth start of the season. In his first road start, he allowed one run on four hits over seven innings to the Atlanta Braves, picking up the win. But he followed that up by watching the San Francisco Giants bomb him for seven runs in 6.2 innings and the loss.

Mets Vs. Rockies: Colorado Defeats New York In Wild Affair, 18-9

The Colorado Rockies snatched a victory from the New York Mets and did so in a fashion that the final score, 18-9, doesn't provide the justice of what actually happened in the game. See, the Mets had nine runs on 17 hits and saw Scott Hairston hit for the cycle ... and still lost. But let's back track for a minute.

The Rockies held a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning, but Hairston hit a home run off starter Drew Pomeranz to tie the game. When the Rockies came out for the top of the fifth inning, but Pomeranz was out of the game with left forearm stiffness. Esmil Rogers came in an allowed four runs, including a Hairston triple. By the end of that half of the inning, the Rockies were in a 6-2 deficit.

And that's when the Rockies struck for 11 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Eric Young Jr. started it all when he hustled on a comebacker to pitcher Chris Schwinden and reached on throwing error to first base. Young wound up stealing second and advancing to third on a throwing error by catcher Mike Nickeas. Marco Scutaro walked and advanced to second on Jonathan Herrera's RBI single.

Carlos Gonzalez blasted a three-run home run to center field to tie the game at 6-6. After Ramon Hernandez drove in a run on a fielder's choice and another error had men on second and third, Dexter Fowler continued the scoring with a three-run home run of his own.

But the bases weren't clear for long after that: Young walk and moved to third on Scutaro's single while Jonathan Herrera's hit by pitch loaded the bases again. Gonzalez, already with an RBI ground out and the home run, singled in two more runs for six RBI in the game, five in the inning. Yet, the bases were cleared of all previous runners after that because first baseman Zach Lutz committed a throwing error to the catcher, allowing Jonathan Herrera, who would have been out if not for the error, to score the 11th run of the inning for a 13-6 lead.

Troy Tulowitzki and Todd Helton ended the inning with back-to-back outs.

The Mets battled back in the top of the sixth inning as Scott Hairston, already with a single in the second inning and the triple and the home run, doubled in two runs to complete the cycle. Lucas Duda followed by driving in Hairston for the 13-9 deficit.

But in the bottom of the seventh, Todd Helton erased one of those runs the Mets scored with an RBI single to left center field. To cap things off, Ramon Hernandez came to the plate with the bases loaded and unloaded his bat for a grand slam and the 18-9 lead.

Matt Reynolds picked up the win for his one inning of effective relief (Pomeranz only made it through four innings and Esmil Rogers and Josh Roenicke combined to allow seven runs). Matt Belisle pitched a 1-2-3 inning in the eighth.

The Rockies (10-9, 6-4 home) are back on the diamond Saturday night.
