The Colorado Rockies took the field for one last time in 2012 Wednesday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field and came off with a victory and series win over Arizona, 2-1.

For the Rockies, left-handed starting pitcher Jeff Francis made his 24th start on the season and turned in one of his finer performances. Francis turned in five innings of one run ball to earn his sixth win of the season. He was supported by Jordan Pacheco, who went 3-for-4.

Right-handed starting pitcher Ian Kennedy opposed Francis and tossed seven innings of scoreless ball while striking out eight batters and walking none.

Twenth-four-year-old Rex Brothers was summoned by Colorado skipper Jim Tracy and asked to close the door with a five-out save, but the southpaw was unable to get the final out of the game. Instead, it was Matt Belisle, who earned the save by recording just one out.
