Jerry Manuel and Pete Mackanin can be added to the list of candidates for the Colorado Rockies managerial job, open since Jim Tracy's resignation on Oct. 7.

The Colorado Rockies continue to expand their search for a new manager. Via the Denver Post:

The club has interviewed former major-league manager Jerry Manuel and former Phillies bench coach Pete Mackanin, a major-league source said Saturday. Also, a source confirmed that the Rockies have interviewed current Diamondbacks coach Matt Williams for the managerial post.

Manuel managed the Chicago White Sox from 1998-2003 and the New York Mets from 2008-10. Mackanin most recently was the bench coach for the Philadelphia Phillies, let go at the end of this season, and was also an interim manager for the Pirates in 2005 and the Reds in 2007. Williams is currently the third-base coach for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

These latest candidates join the list of three men already interviewed for the managerial position left open by Jim Tracy's resignation on Oct. 7: Rockies bench coach Tom Runnells, veteran player Jason Giambi and former Rockies shortstop Walt Weiss. Colorado is also said to have interest in San Francisco Giants bench coach Ron Wotus, who is currently coaching in the World Series.

Other names mentioned as possibilities include two former major league catchers -- Cleveland Indians bench coach Sandy Alomar Jr. and San Diego Padres front-office special assistant Brad Ausmus.
