Colorado Rockies manager Jim Tracy will meet with director of major-league operations Bill Geivett this weekend, a meeting that will play a major role in the team's decision on whether to keep the manager or not.

According to Troy E. Renck of the Denver Post, the decision by owner Dick Monfort on Tracy's future will be based primarily on Geivett's recommendation.

"At this point, (Tracy is) under contract. We haven't discussed anything yet. When we get through, we are going to sit down after the season and talk about everything," said Geivett, who has worked with Tracy for about two decades. "That will be one the biggest things as we look to as far as planning and what we are doing going forward."

Tracy, who previously managed the Los Angeles Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates, has been the Rockies manager since 2009. The Rockies made the playoffs that season, but have struggled since. Winning just 20 games at home in 2012, the Rockies have undergone a significant front office shift that could have dire implications for Tracy, who was given an "indefinite" contract extension following the 2011 season.
