NBA schedule 2012: Nuggets to host Clippers, Timberwolves this week

Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

Denver will welcome the Los Angeles Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves to the Pepsi Center this week for a pair of key games.

Hoping to start off 2013 on the right foot, the Denver Nuggets will begin the week with two vital games against Western Conference opponents.

The Nuggets will first hit the court on New Year's Day against the Los Angeles Clippers, winners of 17 straight games to cement their status as the NBA's hottest team. The Clippers already handed Denver a 112-100 loss on Christmas Day at the Staples Center, and are in possession of the NBA's best record at 25-6.

Following a rest day on Wednesday, the Nuggets will then square off against divisional rival Minnesota on Thursday night at the Pepsi Center. The two teams currently sit in the No. 7 and No. 8 spots in the conference so far after more than one-third of the season, and will enter Thursday's game with their current season series tied at one game apiece.

Nuggets Weekly Schedule

Thursday, Jan. 3 - vs. Minnesota Timberwolves - 7 p.m. MT
