NBA schedule 2012: Nuggets travel to Florida for back-to-back road games

Howard Smith-US PRESSWIRE

The Nuggets will face the Magic on Friday before heading south to face the Heat on Saturday.

The Nuggets' weekend will include a trip to Florida where they'll play back-to-back road games on Friday and Saturday, beginning with a battle for their first win of the season against the Magic.

Friday will be the Magic's first game of the season and the first season opener without without Dwight Howard on the roster since the 2003-04 season. Instead, the Nuggets will face a roster that will rely on Hedo Turkoglu, Jameer Nelson, Arron Afflalo and Glen Jones, among others, to replace the three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

While the Magic are in a rebuild following the departure of Howard, the Nuggets will travel on Saturday to face a team that is anything but rebuilding when they take on the Heat. The defending NBA Champions began the 2012-13 season against the Boston Celtics with a 120-107 win and will have their second game of the season on Friday at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks.

The season for the Nuggets began with an 84-75 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers. See the full NBA schedule for the weekend and beyond here.
