2012 NBA power rankings: Denver 6th to open the season

Mark D. Smith-US PRESSWIRE

SB Nation ranks the Denver Nuggets as the sixth best team in the league as the season gets underway.

The Denver Nuggets could be one of the best and most entertaining teams in the 2012-13 NBA season, and they open the season at the No. 6 spot in SB Nation's NBA Power Rankings. Seth Rosenthal writes that new addition Andre Igoudala should help an already very deep team:

"Denver's stacked. It may actually be too deep for its own good, if that's a thing. If Andre Iguodala can help push last year's mediocre defense into something more efficient, the Nuggets could be one of the league's very best teams."

Rosenthal isn't the only blogger to place Denver so highly. ESPN.com's Marc Stein put the Nuggets at No. 7 and Pro Basketball Talk puts them at No. 6 as well. PBT's Kurt Helin wrote that Denver will be the most fun team to watch in the league and that Igoudala and Ty Lawson are both in for monster seasons.

The Nuggets open the regular season Wednesday night at Philadelphia.
