Denver roster down to maximum 15 players for regular season

The Denver Nuggets waived Anthony Carter and Ben Uzoh on Thursday to reduce their roster to the 15-man maximum for the NBA regular season. The team Twitter page had the news.

Carter, 37, spent 2011-12 in Toronto, where he appeared in 24 games and played a total of 209 minutes, shooting a touch over 32 percent from the field. Carter, a Hawaii alum, played in 218 games for the Nuggets from 2007 through the end of the 2010-11 season, mostly as a reserve guard. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent with Miami in 1998, after playing one season in the Continental Basketball Association.

The 6'3" Uzoh appeared in one preseason game for the Nuggets against the Golden State Warriors, where he scored two points and dished out three assists in 20 minutes. The Tulsa product earned a guaranteed contract in January 2011 with the Nets and finished 2012 with the Raptors. Uzoh recorded the first Toronto triple-double in 11 years on April 26, 2012.
