The Denver Nuggets improved their preseason record to 3-0 on Monday night, taking out the Golden State Warriors 104-98 in the first of their two preseason games at the Pepsi Center.
Danilo Gallinari led the way for the Nuggets with 18 points, 12 of them coming in the first half of the game. The Nuggets put up points early and often, holding a lead for almost the entire game, minus a short-lived tied score in the first quarter and a similarly short lived 86-84 deficit in the third.
Kosta Koufos had six points of his own, adding to a team-high 13 rebounds and an important blocked layup with less than a minute to go in order to seal the win for Denver. The Warriors were led by Stephen Curry's 25 points, but couldn't find enough support for his solid game to keep the balanced Nuggets offense from overtaking them.
Denver will head to Portland for their next preseason game, taking on the Trailblazers on Wednesday.
