Christian Petersen

Northern Colorado faces a UC Riverside team equally desperate to notch a non-conference win.

The Northern Colorado Bears (1-3) visit the UC Riverside Highlanders (1-6) on Saturday night at the Student Recreation Center.

Both teams enter the game struggling to snap three-game losing streaks. Northern Colorado has yet to win a game this season against a NCAA Division I opponent, with their only win coming over NAIA Southwest, 127-81, to open the season.

UC Riverside is off to a rough start as they prepare for Big West conference play. The Highlanders' only win was against Division III Whitman, 89-76. A trio of forwards leads the Highlanders with freshman Josh Fox averaging 11 points and six rebounds per game. Junior forward Chris Harriel scores10.6 points per game while 6'10" Chris Patton adds 10.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

The game is scheduled to tip at 8 p.m. MT.
