The Northern Colorado Bears dominated the Idaho State Bengals on Saturday afternoon for a 52-14 victory. The Bears are now 2-5 on the season, the Bengals just 1-6. UNC quarterback Seth Lobato had a huge day, completing 16-of-22 passes for 243 yards with five touchdowns.
Lobato found four different receivers for his scores, two to Dominic Gunn in the second quarter. Gunn caught a team-high seven receptions for 75 yards. Doug Steele caught a 70-yard touchdown and had 85 receiving yards total.
But running back Tromaine Dennis also played a big role in the win, picking up 178 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries. His first touchdown was the second score of the game for the Bears, coming with 11 seconds left in the first quarter. He added the 15-yard score after Dave Eden's 45-yard field goal midway through the third quarter.
Idaho State scored with 7:25 left in the second quarter and then at 11:59 in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Kevin Yost tossed touchdown passes for the points, finishing the game with 29 completions in 46 attempts for 344 yards. Rodrick Rumble caught seven passes for 96 yards.
The Bears host the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks on Oct. 27.
