Northern Colorado will be looking to win its first Big Sky game as they host Idaho State on Saturday afternoon.
Northern Colorado is hosting Idaho State this Saturday, and both teams are looking to break through with their first league win. Each school is 1-5 overall, and 0-3 in Big Sky play. With both teams having poor records it should come as no surprise that these teams do not score a lot of points, nor do they have a stout defense.
One important factor in this game will be the Northern Colorado pass defense going up against the Idaho State passing offense. Northern Colorado has the second-best pass defense in the Big Sky, and is allowing just 203 yards per game, while Idaho State is able to put the ball in the air and is averaging 375 yards per game.
Idaho State is led by quarterback Kevin Yost who is third in the conference with 14 passing touchdowns , and leads the Big Sky in passing yards with 2,115; that comes out to 352 yards per game.
Northern Colorado will need their superb pass defense to limit Yost on Saturday afternoon if they are going to earn their first conference win of the year.
