2012 Daytona 500: Rain To Delay Race For 'A Few Hours'

Stay connected for news and updates

Rain in Florida is expected to delay the start of the 2012 Daytona 500 for a few hours, reports SB Nation's Jeff Gluck, the man on the scene down there:

Rain is expected for most of the day with a slight possibility of having a time period at night to run the race. If that is unable to happen, the race could be moved to Monday for the first time in its history. However, the weather is expected to be worse on Monday with thunderstorms expected.

Regan Smith of Furniture Row Racing will start sixth whenever the race begins.
