The Denver Pioneers trail the No. 1 Loyola Greyhounds at halftime, 6-4, in the quarterfinals of the 2012 NCAA Lacrosse Tournament. After battling to a 2-2 tie in the first quarter, Loyola won the second quarter, 4-2.
Eric Lusby has a hat trick and four points already for the Greyhounds, scoring two of those goals in the second quarter. Scott Ratliff and Kevin Ryan scored the other two goals. Denver has allowed three of those goals while with a man in the box.
Mark Matthews scored the Pioneers' first two goals, but he was held scoreless in the second quarter. Jeremy Noble and Cameron Flint picked up the other two goals.
Denver goalie Ryan LaPlante has allowed all six goals while making seven shots.
Can the Pioneers defeat the Greyhounds in their third contest of the season? Thirty minutes remain.
