UNC Vs. Denver Halftime Score, 2012 NCAA Tournament: Tar Heels Take 10-8 Lead Over Pioneers At Halftime

Stay connected for news and updates

The North Carolina Tar Heels came roaring back in the second quarter against the Denver Pioneers, taking a 10-8 lead into halftime. UNC's Marcus Holman has five goals so far.

After opening with a 5-2 lead at the end of the first quarter, Denver expanded the lead to 6-2, but they weren't quite able to keep momentum on their side. Holman scored four of his five goals in the second quarter, leading to the 8-3 scoring advantage in that quarter. No other Tar Heel has more than one goal.

For the Pioneers, Mark Matthews is still stuck on his third goal, scoring all three in the first quarter. Wes Berg and Jeremy Noble each have two goals while Alex Demopoulos has the other goal.

UNC goalie Steven Rastivo had made nine saves to Denver goalie Ryan LaPlante's three saves. Will one team be able to come out ahead on defense in the second half?
