The Denver Pioneers escaped an 0-2 Hartford Hawks at home this weekend with an 11-10 victory but weren't punished by the pollsters in the new round of NCAA lacrosse voting. Denver moved up a single spot in both polls and now sits at No. 11 in the Nike Media Poll and No. 13 in the USILA Coaches Poll.
Denver carried an 11-5 lead into the fourth quarter and an 11-7 margin into the final two minutes of the game but allowed Hartford to net three goals in 76 seconds to bring the game within one. Over the final 44 seconds of the game the Pioneer defense stiffened and held on for the one point victory.
