Because Thin Air Is Good For You!
The Denver Pioneers opened the lacrosse season with a 10-9 loss to the Ohio St. Buckeyes and fell to No. 11/12 in the polls, but freshman attacker Wes Berg certainly showed he deserves his early playing time: he was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference's Rookie of the Week. Berg scored two goals and assisted on another in his first collegiate game.
The Pioneers, though, saw the Offensive Player of the Week, the Buckeyes' Logan Schuss, score five goals against them. The Pioneers' defense is young and inexperienced; that performance should be a learning lesson for them.
