Denver Vs. Florida International: Pioneers Try To Bounce Back Against Panthers

Denver goes for its eighth win in conference play.

The Denver Pioneers are coming off a painful 72-71 loss at Florida Atlantic on Thursday night, but they can salvage what's left of their Florida road trip against Florida International on Saturday night. If they are to earn the road win over FIU, a faster start will be a key to it.

Offensively, Denver has been one of the nation's top shooting teams -- the Pioneers rank in the top 10 in 3FG%, 2FG% and FT% -- and the Golden Panthers are nothing special in terms of field goal percentage defense. FIU has been especially vulnerable inside this season, though the team has improved a bit in conference play.

At the other end, it's a good matchup for a Denver defense that has been forcing plenty of turnovers this season. Florida International is turning the ball over on 22.4% of its offensive possessions, which ranks 267th in the nation.
