U.S. Ambassador Christopher Robert Hill is scheduled to be the guest speaker at the Denver Men's Lacross Fall Celebration Dinner on Saturday, Oct. 20. Denver coach Bill Tierney called Hill a big lacrosse fan and said hearing Hill speak will be beneficial to his players:
"In our first three years at DU, our staff and team have experienced some very memorable moments," Tierney said. "The facilities, support and academic opportunities presented to our players, allow them to succeed as student athletes. Having a lacrosse fan like Chris Hill however, affords us a very special opportunity to combine our passion for the sport with the ability to enhance the education our young men receive at the University of Denver."
Hill currently serves as Denver's School of International Studies Dean. He served as the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq from April 2009 to August 2010 before joining the school in September of 2010.
The Pioneers' men's lacrosse team opened the season on Oct. 13 with a 12-9 win over Maryland.
