The Denver Pioneers (12-3, 2-1) looks to pick up a key conference victory when it faces South Alabama
After bouncing back from a tough loss to Sun Belt rival Arkansas- Little Rock, the Denver Pioneers will look to pick up their second consecutive road victory when they face South Alabama. The Pioneers currently trail both Arkansas-Little Rock and Louisiana-Lafayette by a 1/2 game in the Sun Belt West Division.
In its last game, DU used a stout defensive effort to pick up a 53-50 win at Arkansas St. The Pioneers forced 16 turnovers, and by controlling the pace of the game, limited Arkansas St. to just 44 field goal attempts. Chase Hallam led the Pioneers with 15 points in the win, while Chris Udofia scored 14 points and blocked three shots.
South Alabama has an impressive post threat in sophomore C Augustine Rubit. Rubit leads the Jaguars with an average of 14.6 rpg and 9.2 rpg. However, Rubit hurt his back in a loss to North Texas and it will be interesting to see how productive he can be.
