NBA Free Agency: JaVale McGee Linked To Pacers And Trail Blazers, Nuggets Brace For Offers

The Denver Nuggets have been busy negotiating with restricted free agent center JaVale McGee on a new contract, but general manager Masai Ujiri may have some other suitors to deal with in the near future. David Aldridge of NBA.com reported via Twitter on Friday that the Indiana Pacers and Portland Trail Blazers are teams that could make a big offer to McGee. The Trail Blazers agreed to a 4-year, $58 million maximum offer sheet with restricted free agent center Roy Hibbert at the opening of free agency, but the offer sheet cannot be officially extended until July 11 and the Pacers have three days from that time to decide whether or not to match. Aldridge notes that whichever team loses out on Hibbert is likely to use some of that money on an offer to McGee.

The 24-year-old center came to the Nuggets from the Washington Wizards in the Nene trade last season, and he averaged 11.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game in 2011-12.
