NBA Free Agency Rumors: Nuggets Likely To Amnesty Chris Andersen, According To Report

Stay connected for news and updates

Chris Tomasson of FOX Sports is reporting the Denver Nuggets will like amnesty F Chris Andersen on Tuesday evening:

There's a strong chance of the Nuggets using amnesty clause on Chris Andersen by tonight's deadline. It's a move that would make sense. Andersen is due $9.3 million in the final two years of his contract. He's 34 and has declined as a player and doesn't figure to see any time with the Nuggets due to their glut in the front court.

And concerning the ongoing investigation based around Andersen's premises, it appears the veteran forward will be free of any major problems:

Indications are Andersen might not get charged with anything regarding the ongoing investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, but it's an unnecessary distraction for the Nuggets to have.
