Nuggets Vs. Suns Recap: Nuggets Pull Out Huge 105-99 Victory Over Suns

The Denver Nuggets (30-25) have had some crushing losses in recent weeks, including ones to the Toronto Raptors and New Orleans Hornets, two of the worst teams in the NBA. But their win on Friday night over the Phoenix Suns (28-27)— which secures them a head-to-head tiebreaker over the Suns should the two teams finish the season with the same record at the end of the season— was just the opposite.

The Nuggets were led to a rousing 105-99 victory by guards Arron Afflalo and Andre Miller. Afflalo carried the Nuggets for most of the night, playing 42 minutes and finishing with 30 points on 11-19 shooting and 5-9 shooting from three. But it was Miller that closed the game out for Denver, scoring six of his 15 points in the game's final three and half minutes, including a lay up with two and a half minutes left that gave them a 99-98 lead that they would not relinquish.

Tomorrow night will be a quick turnaround for the Nuggets who will fly west to Oakland to visit the new look Golden State Warriors.
