Over the weekend, the Denver Nuggets will be hosting a pair of Western Conference foes as they try to better position themselves to make the playoffs this season. It's been an up-and-down year for Denver so far, which recently lost 100-99 to the Cleveland Cavaliers to break a four-game winning streak.
At 22-18 this season, the Nuggets are essentially in the middle of the pack in the Western standings, which are dominated at the top by Oklahoma City, followed by San Antonio. After those two, nine different teams are within five games of each other, even though only six of those teams can make the postseason.
Here are Denver's upcoming games for the weekend:
Nuggets vs. New Orleans Hornets: Friday, March 9, 7:00 p.m.
Nuggets vs. Memphis Grizzles: Sunday, March 11, 6:00 p.m.
Memphis is currently in third place in the Western Conference standings, but the Grizzlies are only two games ahead of the Nuggets.
