Nene Trade: Nuggets Send Forward To Wizards In 3-Team Deal, Receive JaVale McGee, According To Report

Stay connected for news and updates

We told you earlier this morning the Denver Nuggets were expected to be quiet at the deadline. So much for that. Multiple outlets are reporting Denver has traded starting center Nene as part of a three-team deal. The Nuggets will receive young center JaVale McGee from the Washington Wizards in the trade.

Nene has been with the Nuggets his entire career, since the 2002-2003 season. In December, he signed a five-year, $67 million contract with Denver. The center has been battling injuries for most of this season, and is averaging 13.4 points per gaem and 7.4 rebounds per game for George Karl's crew.

McGee is something of a cult hero on the Internet, and not for the right reasons. He is regarded as having the ability to do something incredible, followed by something incredibly stupid, on a possession-by-possession basis. The 24-year old center is averaging 11.9 points per game, 8.8 rebounds per game, and 2.5 blocks per game this season. He boasts an impressive PER of 19.79.
